explanation: Capital of Mie prefecture. Located on Ise bay and formally called Anotsu, Tsu is one of the 3 famous ancient harbors. Since the construction of a castle by Todo Takatora in Edo period, it had become a prosperous castle town and a post town on the road to Ise shrine. Tsu is now a center of textile and mechanical industries. The surrounding plain is cultivating rice and vegetables while on the cost, a seaweed (nori). Senjuji temple is well known. The population is 160,000.
